The turns are either tightly wound or spread apart and can be adapted to torsional loads (at right angles to the spring axis). The end of the spring can be wrapped into a hook shape or a straight torsion arm. The material of the double torsion spring is generally piano stainless steel and steel wire, and there are also patented high-temperature-resistant and high-fatigue-resistant special alloys. Material: Type 302 stainless steel, piano wire (instrument metal strings), chromium silicon steel, cold drawn steel, Inconel, oil tempered steel wire, Monel alloy, chromium vanadium steel, beryllium copper, chromium silicon steel, phosphor bronze, galvanized piano Wire end face requirements: Straight torsion end faces are standard.
Used on a supported mandrel or stem. The mandrel is sized to allow approximately 10% of the listed deviations. If the deviation is large, the size of the stem should be reduced.
The double torsion spring shot peening process can be divided into the following three types:
1) Combined shot peening technology. Combined shot peening, also known as multiple shot peening process. The most economical process is to use secondary shot peening. This is achieved by shot blasting of different diameters. Larger particles are used initially to obtain residual compressive stress and surface finish.
2) Stress peening process. Stress peening is also a classic shot peening process, just because it is difficult to apply to mass production. However, due to the rapid development of stress shot peening equipment in recent years, it has been greatly developed in the mass production of high-stress automotive suspensions. In particular, the combined application of stress-strengthened shot peening and other shot peening processes has a good strengthening effect. The prestress of stress peening is generally set at (700 ~ 800) MPa. After stress peening, the peak residual stress can reach (1200 ~ 1500) MPa, thereby obtaining higher fatigue strength.
3) Double torsion spring hot pressing process The hot pressing process is mainly used for spiral double torsion springs with high resistance to permanent deformation. It is an advanced and stable process to prevent permanent deformation. The hot pressing process can not only significantly improve the resistance to permanent deformation, but also improve the fatigue life.
